CREWPOOL · HOW IT WORKSHiring? →

No agency. Just the list.

CrewPool is a live list of UK event and festival crew. Companies use it to find hands fast; crew use it to get rung direct and keep their full rate. Here's exactly what happens on each side.

Hiring crewCompanies

Two ways in, both free: post the job and let the system do the ringing round, or browse the list yourself.

1.

Post your job free. Skills, headcount, dates, area. Takes two minutes, no account, no card.

2.

We text the crew who fit. The moment you post, the system matches the list by skill, distance from your site and availability for your dates, and texts the best matches. Not a blast - only people who actually fit the job.

3.

The free ones raise their hand. Crew tap one link to confirm they can work your dates. As replies land, your job page fills up with confirmed-available people, best match first. If too few say yes, the system automatically asks the next-best matches.

4.

Unlock the ones you want. Pay a small fee per contact, only for the people you actually pick. Your first one's free, so you can try the pool. We send their details same day.

5.

Ring them direct. You agree the rate and dates person to person. We take no cut of their pay and add no markup, so the same worker costs you less than through an agency.

6.

After the gig, mark who turned up. Thirty seconds on your job page. No-shows get a strike (three and they're off the list); reliable crew build a record you can see next time. The list gets better every time it's used.

Getting workCrew

Free forever. No agency cut, no fees, no deposit. You agree your own rate and keep all of it.

1.

Put your name down once. Where you are, how far you'll travel, what you've done before AND what you'd be happy to try. Two minutes.

2.

Your phone does the rest. When a job near you fits, you get a text with the work, dates, area and rate. Tap the link if you can do it - that's the whole application.

3.

Get rung direct. Companies unlock your contact and ring you. You agree the rate with them, person to person. £100-£300+ a day is typical, depending on the work.

4.

Turn up and build a record. Showing up reliably gets you picked first next time. Name a company you've crewed for and a confirmed reference ranks you higher in every search.

The bit agencies won't say

An agency charges the company a margin on every hour you work, and the worker never sees it. CrewPool charges the company a small flat fee to get connected, then gets out of the way. Worker keeps the full rate, company pays less overall, and the two of you deal direct from then on. We'd rather be the introduction everyone trusts than the middleman everyone resents.

Common questions

What does it cost to hire?
Posting a job is free. Browsing is free. You pay a small fee per contact you unlock, and your first one's free so you can try the pool. No subscription, no markup, no cut of the worker's pay.
How fast do I hear back?
Texts go out the moment you post. Most replies land the same day. Invites expire after 24 hours so your shortlist only shows people who actually said yes recently.
Is CrewPool an agency?
No. We're a list with a matching engine on top. You hire and pay crew directly, the employment relationship is yours, and we never touch the worker's pay.
What if someone doesn't show?
Mark it on your job page after the gig. A no-show earns a strike; three strikes and they stop being put forward to anyone. We surface track records rather than make promises - that honesty is what keeps the list worth using.
What does it cost to join as crew?
Nothing, ever. No registration fee, no deposit, no cut of your pay.
Do I need experience to join?
No. You tick what you've done AND what you'd happily try. Plenty of event work just needs reliable, willing hands - companies can see exactly which is which.
