Hiring crewCompanies
Post the job and let the system ring round, or browse the list yourself. Both free.
1.Post your job free. Skills, headcount, dates, hours, area. Two minutes, no account.
2.We text the crew who fit. Matched by skill, distance and your dates. Not a blast.
more
The moment you post, the system scores the whole list against your job - what they've done before, how far they'll travel, whether your dates are clear - and texts only the best matches. Nobody irrelevant hears about it.
3.The free ones say yes. One tap. Your job page fills up, best match first - and tops itself up if too few reply.
more
Crew tap one link to confirm they can work your dates. Each reply updates your job page live, and if not enough say yes the system automatically invites the next-best matches until you're covered. Invites expire after 24 hours, so everyone on your shortlist said yes recently.
4.Unlock the ones you want. £15 a contact, first one free. Details on screen instantly.
more
You only pay for the people you actually pick - no subscription, no minimum. The first contact is free so you can judge the pool before spending a penny, and every unlock reveals instantly.
5.Ring them direct. Agree the rate person to person. No markup, no cut of their pay.
more
You hire and pay them directly, like anyone you'd find through word of mouth. Because no agency sits in the middle taking a margin, the same worker typically costs you less here.
6.Mark who turned up. Thirty seconds. It's a record of what hirers tell us, not our judgement.
more
After the gig your job page asks who showed. We keep a record of what hirers report - it's not a guarantee or a verdict from us. Repeated reported no-shows mean someone stops being put forward; reliable crew build a clean record you can see next time, so the list gets better every time it's used.
Rather pick yourself? Browse the list and tap Check availability on anyone, free. We ask them for your dates and their answer lands on your job page, then offer to ask other crew nearby too, so you're never waiting on one person. Every profile shows when its availability was last confirmed - the freshest-confirmed crew rank first, so the top of the list is who's actually about. You can also save a search and get an email when new matching crew join. You only unlock a contact when you want to book.

Getting workCrew
Free forever. No fees, no deposit, no cut. You agree your rate and keep all of it.
1.Put your name down once. Where you are, how far you'll go, what you can do. Two minutes.
2.Get texted real jobs. Work, dates, area, rate. Tap yes if you want it - that's the application.
3.Get rung direct. You agree the rate. £100-£300+ a day is typical.
4.Turn up, and keep answering. Reliable hands get picked first next time. Answering job texts - even with a no - keeps your availability fresh, and fresh profiles rank first. A confirmed reference ranks you higher again.
more
Search shows the freshest-confirmed crew first: any answer to a job text (yes or no) counts as confirming your availability, so staying responsive keeps you at the top and going quiet lets you drift down. Then, name a company you've crewed for and we ask them to confirm it with one tap - a confirmed reference just means they vouched for you, and it ranks you above unconfirmed profiles whose availability is just as fresh. It isn't an ID, ticket or right-to-work check; hirers still check those themselves. Show up reliably and your record does your selling for you.

We never charge: a cut of the worker's pay · a markup on their rate · a placement fee · a subscription. For scale: a traditional agency runs £50-150+ per head placed, plus a margin on every hour worked. Our £25 is flat, final, and you never pay for anyone who doesn't turn up.
The bit agencies won't say
An agency takes a margin on every hour worked. We charge the company a small flat fee to get connected, then get out of the way - worker keeps the full rate, company pays less, and you deal direct from then on.
Common questions
What does it cost to hire?
Posting and browsing are free. Unlocking a contact is £15, first one free, revealed instantly. Self-serve credits: 5 for £60 · 15 for £150. If we fill the job for you it's £25 per person who turns up, first job free this season. Season Pass £299. Full breakdown
above.
How fast do I hear back?
Texts go out the moment you post; most replies land the same day. Invites expire after 24 hours so your shortlist stays fresh.
Who covers insurance?
Same as any casual labour you engage directly: you're the hirer, so your own employer's and public liability cover applies. We're not the employer or a party to the engagement. Specialist trades often carry their own cover - ask when you ring.
Is CrewPool an agency?
No. You hire and pay crew directly; we never touch the worker's pay.
What if someone doesn't show?
Mark it on your job page. It's a record of what hirers tell us, not a judgement from CrewPool. Repeated reported no-shows mean someone stops being put forward. We surface track records, we don't make promises.
Are tickets and certs checked?
No. Crew self-declare their tickets and certificates (forklift, IPAF, CSCS, food hygiene and so on). As the hirer you must see the actual ticket or card yourself before anyone operates plant or works at height. The same goes for right to work - that's the hirer's check, not ours.
What does it cost to join as crew?
Nothing, ever. No fees, no deposit, no cut of your pay.
Do I need experience?
No. Tick what you've done AND what you'd happily try - plenty of event work just needs reliable hands.
Do I need to register as self-employed?
Usually yes - companies pay you direct, so your tax is yours. Register with HMRC (free, minutes online). Some companies use short-term payroll instead; ask. Check gov.uk if unsure.
