Build, break and festive lighting

Beyond the stalls there's chalet install and strike, festive light installs and event build work - the same day-rate crew (£120-£250) who work festivals and exhibitions through the year. Tick build and rigging skills and you show up for the autumn build and the January strike too.

Work the markets, work the festivals

Loads of CrewPool members crew festivals and events through the summer and bars year-round. Christmas markets fill the winter - same list, local operators, the busiest hiring season of the year. See festival and event work.

Common questions

How much do Christmas market jobs pay in Nottingham?

Most stall, bar and steward shifts around Nottingham pay £12.71+/hr (ages 21+, April 2026), agreed directly with the operator. Build and break crew (chalet install and strike, festive lighting) earn the usual event day rate of around £120-£250. On CrewPool no agency takes a cut, so you keep all of it.

Do I need experience to work a Christmas market in Nottingham?

Not for most of it. You tick what you've done before AND what you'd happily learn, so operators can take on willing hands. Bar, barista and personal-licence skills get you picked first, but plenty of market work starts with serving on a stall or clearing tables.

When is Christmas market work in Nottingham?

The markets themselves run late November into early January, with build crews on site from late October and strike crews in early January. Add your name now and you're on the list when operators start hiring in the autumn - the good crew gets booked early.

Is this an agency? Does it cost anything?

No and no. CrewPool is a directory, not an agency. Operators find you, ring you direct, and pay you direct. Joining is free forever - no registration fee, no deposit, no cut of your pay.
