The short answer
Most festival and event build day work in the UK pays £100–£200 a day, with specialist and supervisory roles (riggers, lighting techs, crew chiefs) running to £300+. Rates are agreed directly between you and the company — no agency takes a cut on CrewPool, so you keep the lot.
Typical day rates by role
Festival crew / general labour £100–£150 · Bar staff £100–£140 · Marquee crew £120–£200 · Bell tent crew £100–£160 · Stewards £90–£120 · Stagehands £120–£180 · Lighting & AV £130–£220 · Catering £100–£150 · Drivers £120–£180 · Crew chiefs & site managers £150–£300+.
What moves the rate
Experience, tickets (forklift, first aid, licences), how far you'll travel and whether you can stay overnight. Confirmed references are the single biggest boost — companies ring the fullest profiles first.
Why direct beats an agency
Traditional event staffing agencies take a margin on every hour you work, and some even charge YOU a registration fee or deposit. On CrewPool joining is free, companies contact you direct, and you agree your own rate.
